Handgun Fundamentals: Beginner Course
Service Description
Build a strong foundation with your handgun through structured, hands-on training in a small group setting in Merrill, WI. This course is designed for new shooters or those looking to refresh their fundamentals in a safe, supportive environment. You will learn how to handle, operate, and shoot a handgun with confidence and control. We begin in the classroom, where you will learn: - Firearm safety and safe handling practices - Handgun types and basic operation - Proper grip, stance, and sight alignment - How to identify and clear common malfunctions - Equipment considerations, including holsters, lights, and safe storage This is not a large, high-volume class. You will receive individual coaching and guidance to help you build safe, consistent habits from the start. After the classroom portion, we transition to the range for live-fire training. On the range, you will: - Apply the fundamentals you learned in class - Confirm grip, stance, and sight picture - Fire controlled shots with coaching and feedback - Build confidence through a structured first-shots experience The live-fire portion is intentional and paced to allow for coaching and improvement. You will not be rushed through drills. The focus is on quality repetitions and building confidence with every shot. What to Bring - Handgun - Minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition - Eye and ear protection No handgun? Rental options are available for $25 (includes ammunition). Contact us in advance to reserve. Additional Information - Includes annual membership to Lincoln County Sports Club ($40 value) - $5 donation to Lincoln County Sports Club included in tuition Next Steps After completing this course, students are well prepared to continue into our Concealed Carry and skills-based training courses.
